At least seven people, including an eight-year-old child, were killed in an accident during a car race in Sri Lanka. According to a police spokesman, two racing cars left the track and entered the crowd, as the English-language newspaper "Daily Mirror" from Colombo reported.

More than 20 people were injured. The racing event in Diyatalawa called “Fox Hill Super Cross” took place for the 28th time. It is one of the most important motorsport events in Sri Lanka and is organized by the Sri Lanka Military Academy.
