3rd league: Hollerbach provides a three-pack for Wehen victory

Benedict Hollerbach ended SV Wehen's mini-crisis with his second three-pack of the season. "I'm still a bit annoyed because I could have scored two more goals," joked the 21-year-old striker after the 4-1 (2-1) win in the 3rd division game against FC Ingolstadt on Saturday. "I'm very grateful to my team. They defended everything on the defensive and kept looking for me with great balls."

Hollerbach had already scored three goals in the game against Spielvereinigung Bayreuth. With the victory, Wehen consolidated third place, which currently entitles you to direct promotion. Because the SC Freiburg II as second in the table is not allowed to rise. The match winner from Hessen scored his goals against Ingolstadt in the 13th, 20th and 47th minutes. Kianz Froese (84th) made the final score with a penalty kick. Pascal Testroet (24th) had scored for the guests to connect in the meantime.

Wehen Wiesbaden was the more active team from the start. With his first goal, Hollerbach used a mistake by the Ingolstadt goalkeeper, who hit the ball. Just a few minutes later he followed up with a nice one-on-one action. SVWW goalkeeper Arthur Lyska dropped the ball on one of the visitors' few offensive moves, which punished Testroet. In the second period, Hollerbach shocked Upper Bavaria early on and set the course for victory. The Hessians remained game-determining and did not let Ingolstadt get a chance.

"It was a deserved win for our team. We may have scored a goal too many, but overall it was a good response to last week's performance in Osnabrück," said Wehen coach Markus Kauczinski. "We know about Benedict Hollerbach's qualities, which he has once again impressively demonstrated. Nevertheless, there is always a team effort behind it."
