First Oscar nomination: Jamie Lee Curtis posts emotional pictures

Jamie Lee Curtis (64) is nominated for an Oscar for "Best Supporting Actress". The actress, who is on the roster for 'Everything Everywhere All at Once' for the first time in her long career, has shared a series of photos on Instagram, showing her at the announcement this Tuesday (January 24). "This is what surprise looks like," she writes about the snapshots, on one of which she stands in front of the television in amazement.

Jamie Lee Curtis explains that she didn't even realize that her friend Debbie Oppenheimer, film producer and Oscar winner, took the photos of her. The first shows the moment "I hear my name, then Stephanie [Hsu]'s name and the rest of the nominations," the actress said. Colleague Stephanie Hsu (32) is also nominated in the category. "Everything Everywhere All at Once" received a total of 11 nominations, including four honors for actress and actor. The third picture shows "best of all, a loving hug for my husband," Curtis continues. "No filter. No fakes. Just a real moment of joy captured by a friend."

"Everything Everywhere All at Once" colleague Michelle Yeoh (60) is nominated for "Best Actress", making her the first Asian woman to be recognized in this category. On Instagram she writes: "I am overwhelmed and over the moon! Every single person who worked on this film put their heart and soul into it. Playing Evelyn Wang has been one of the great privileges of my 40-year career. It really is role of my life." Ke Huy Quan (51), himself in the running for "Best Supporting Actor" for his role in "Everything Everywhere All at Once", congratulates his colleague on Instagram for this "historic nomination".

He also thanks the Academy for this incredible honor. "I'm screaming so loud I'm sure I'll lose my voice at the end of the day. Thank you to everyone who has reached out to me with congratulations and to everyone who has followed me on this incredible journey. I am so thankful to you all. This is definitely one of the happiest days of my life."
