All fans of the German band Pur around singer Hartmut Engler (61) should mark October 2023 in their calendars. This month "Abenteuerland - The Musical" starts in the Capitol Theater Düsseldorf, as announced on Friday. According to the announcement, 30 hits by the band from Baden-Württemberg such as "I love you", "A gray hair", "Alone in front of the mirror", "Lena" and of course "Adventureland" will then be heard on stage - arranged in polyphony for one Musical plot that will revolve around three generations of the fictional Schirmer family. "Adventureland - The Musical" was created in close cooperation with the band Pur.

"I'm deeply moved to hear the Pur songs in new, partly polyphonic arrangements. It sounds simply wonderful [...] I had to laugh and also cry," enthuses Pur frontman Engler. Advance sales for the musical, which starts at the end of the year, began today, March 3rd. The world premiere of "Adventure Land - The Musical" will take place on October 22 this year at 6 p.m. The show is scheduled to run until March 10, 2024, with previews taking place at the Capitol Theater in Düsseldorf from October 10-21 before the premiere.

The album "Abenteuerland", released in 1995, is one of Pur's greatest successes. It sold two million copies alone, achieved quadruple platinum status and is one of the best-selling music albums in Germany. Producer Martin Flohr ("Rocky Horrow Show", "Bodyguard - Das Musical") is responsible for the production of "Abenteuerland - Das Musical".
