This is a back that looks like an admission of failure for the governor of California. He ordered on Monday a return to certain restrictions in the face of the pandemic Covid-19, including the closure of halls of restaurant, bars, hairdressers and places of worship. "We return to a modified form of our set of 'containment' at first," summarized the governor Gavin Newsom. California was the first u.s. State to impose a containment general in march, but the number of cases reported continues to increase for several weeks and now stands at nearly 330,000, of which more than 7,000 dead.
To stem the phenomenon, the governor Newsom announced Monday the expansion to the whole State of the closure of the bars, dining rooms, cinemas, zoos and aquariums, restrictions that were already in effect in areas particularly affected by the coronavirus. It has also decided to close again a range of shops and services in thirty counties at risk, including Los Angeles. These latest restrictions cover approximately 80 % of the 40 million inhabitants of California and are, for the moment, shopping centres, sports halls, religious ceremonies, the events, the offices for "non-essential", as well as hairdressers and beauty salons. They will apply until further notice to the counties listed for three consecutive days on the list of areas where the pandemic will require particular vigilance.

The schools will remain closed
"This virus will not go away anytime soon," quipped Gavin Newsom during his daily intervention on the social networks. "I hope we're all aware of it, even those who could imagine that he was going to disappear with the heat", he added, making without the name alluding to president Donald Trump, who had made a declaration to that effect at the beginning of the pandemic. The officials of the school district of Los Angeles, the second largest of the United States with around 600,000 students, announced Monday that the schools would reopen their doors as scheduled on August 18, and that the courses would be taught at a distance until further order. "One thing is clear : the countries that have managed to reopen schools safely have done with infection rates falling and the possibility to test those who request it.
