Bad Ems: Less freight to inland ports of Rhineland-Palatinate handled

The extent to which the Corona-crisis on the inland waterway in the country effect, is likely to show up increasingly in the coming months, it said. The largest decrease took place according to the communication, in the case of ores, stones and earths, as well as other mining products. With a turnover of 907 000 tonnes was recorded a deep decline of 26 percent. The highest transshipment volume was, therefore, with 1.33 million tonnes in the division manufacture of coke and petroleum products. This means a Plus of 3.3 percent.

In Ludwigshafen, the largest inland port in the country, were handled according to the figures, 1.9 per cent more goods than in the first quarter of 2019. The second largest port in Mainz, Germany had to cope with, therefore, a Minus of 4.7 percent.
