Two huge fights are starting to focus after a difficult week for boxing's blueriband division. Fury is set to defend his title against Whyte, according to reports.
Oleksandr Usyk, the WBO, IBF and WBA champions, is likely to face Anthony Joshua. He activated a clause last year in his bid for reclaiming the world titles he lost last September.
Fury is currently focused on Whyte and has shared mock-up fight posters of the two via Instagram, even though a deal is not yet in place.
Fury had hoped for a showdown with Usyk to unify them, but Joshua offered him a massive step-aside to make that possible.
Joshua strongly denied that the deal was accepted despite Fury's 'bulls**t suggestion'. Fury's Instagram comments on Wednesday suggested that the offer was rejected.
"Eddie Hearn, Anthony Joshua are the most evil businessmen ever." He said that they had lost $90 million today.
Hearn offered his side of the complicated story and accused Fury, who claimed that Usyk was effectively ducking him, insisting that 'The Gypsy King' was actually chasing 'a little easier one in March', rather than meeting the undefeated Ukrainian.
Hearn stated to iFL TV that the reality is, we are open to a long-form agreement and a plan for AJ.
"But we're still not at that stage. Tyson Fury was able to discuss the topic - Fury does not want to fight Usyk in my opinion.
"Because he was able to do it through these conversations and really, when it came to it, it was really not something he wanted to."
"What Fury really wants is to have a March one, that's all he really wants.
"Now, he will have to fight DillianWhyte. And by the way, after all this kerfuffle he'll be beat by DillianWhyte. He'll be knocked out of the ring by DillianWhyte.
"But the truth is, when it came down to it it, he never wanted Oleksandr Usyk to fight him."
He could have entered straight into a fight against Oleksandr Uzyk, but he did not want to fight Oleksandr Uzyk.
"But you won’t ever hear it and the public will never hear it." Fury will only be heard on Instagram screaming and shouting using smoking mirrors.
Fury and Whyte had till 6pm tonight (Wednesday 26th January) to reach a private agreement on their WBC title showdown. The free negotiation period was extended for 48 hours. If no agreement is reached, purse bids may be made.
Any promoter who wants to finance or stage the fight can make a bid for the purse bid.
