Thiago Alcántara will not be available for Luis Enrique in the four games of the group stage of the Nations League that the team plays this June, the first of them this Thursday against Portugal, in Seville. The Liverpool midfielder, who joined the concentration touched, has not been able to recover from muscle ailments in the back of his right leg.

It is a hard blow for Thiago, who had seen in this call a good opportunity to convince the coach again. The Spanish-Brazilian was one of those who left the national team at the end of the European Championship. He had not attended any of the following calls.

Thiago will continue to concentrate with Spain until after the game against Portugal.

Afterwards, he will fly back with the team to Madrid, from where he will definitely return home.

The official media of the selection have communicated that no player will be called to replace Thiago. The list, then, remains at 24 players. For the interior positions, Luis Enrique has Koke, Marcos Llorente, Gavi and Carlos Soler.

Thiago missed the opportunity last Saturday to become the third player in history, after Clarence Seedorf and Samuel Etoo, to win the Champions League with three different clubs.
