Ajax's right-back contract expires at the end of the season and he is preparing to leave the club as an unrestricted agent. He will be an important addition to Julian Nagelsmann’s squad. This is because he needs competition and support for Benjamin Pavard who is the club's current right-back.

The Moroccan had been in discussions with Barcelona about a possible transfer. Bayern Munich has swooped in to complete the deal with Ryan Gravenberch.

In order to keep the agreement with the German giants, Noussair Mazraoui will not accept bids from any other clubs. Manchester United made an effort to sign Mazraoui, as Erik Ten Hag, the current Ajax manager, will be taking over the club next season.
