formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton (Britain/Mercedes) has won the Grand Prix of Spain. It was the 88. Grand Prix victory of his career and the fourth in the sixth race of the season, three more victories separating him from Michael Schumacher's record.

Sebastian Vettel (Heppenheim) was in the Ferrari in Seventh, his team mate Charles Leclerc (Monaco) fell short to mid-term of the race with engine damage.

The places two and three went to the Red Bull front man Max Verstappen, the winner of the second Silverstone race, and Hamilton's team-mate Valtteri Bottas (Finland).

Hamilton continued to extend his lead in the championship standings with 132 points, he already has 37 points ahead of Verstappen (95), third is Bottas (89). Next weekend the formula 1 break, the race will be held on 30. August in Spa/Belgium.
