The Croatian national team won the match for third place at the World Cup in Qatar 2-1 against Morocco. The Croatians took the lead after just seven minutes with a header from Josko Gvardiol. Morocco equalized two minutes later through Achraf Dari. A fast-paced first half developed in which the Croatians had a little more of the game. Shortly before the break, Mislav Orsic scored Croatia's winning goal with a well-placed shot from a tight angle. In the second half, the World Cup runner-up from 2018 brought the lead with a lot of fighting over time.
