VfB Stuttgart: Mislintat speaks out for coaches

The form curve of VfB Stuttgart is pointing upwards after taking over from Michael Wimmer. Sven Mislintat would like to continue working with the interim coach - but he can't decide on his own, as he emphasizes.

The last-minute win against Hertha BSC was Wimmer's fourth win in six competitive games as interim coach of VfB Stuttgart - a record that is impressive. Sports director Sven Mislintat knows that too. "We've had three finals at home in the Bundesliga, all of which he [Wimmer] won," said the 50-year-old.

Mislintat calculated that with Wimmer's current points average, the classes would be held at the end of the season. "That means he has certainly collected arguments, I recognized that and will bring that into the discussion," he continued (via Sky).

The sports director also emphasized that this is not a decision "that I can make alone". Rather, it should be decided by those "who also have a contract beyond June 30, 2023," said Mislintat with a view to his expiring contract.

Speaking of which, Mislintat said slightly sarcastically about his own future that "we should talk about it at some point". There are many things to be clarified at VfB anyway, "but I don't make the timetable," he underlined.
