Transfermarkt: Isco left after Union removal: "Something like this happens"

The former real star Isco has accepted the failed move to 1. FC Union Berlin quite calmly.

After his ultimately unsuccessful short trip to the German capital, the 30-year-old told a reporter from local channel 101TV Sevilla on his return to Spain: "Something like that happens in football." However, the transfer posse made plenty of headlines: only after the medical check did the two sides realize that they could not come to an agreement after all.

There is no precise information about the reasons. It was speculated in the media that there might have been a misunderstanding between net and gross totals. In Spain, the salary is given in net.

The different parties contradict each other

According to Union's professional football manager Oliver Ruhnert, the Gestifute consulting agency had requested changes at the last moment. As a result, the transfer failed. "Even if the player is already here, we don't allow ourselves to do anything that doesn't suit us," Ruhnert told Sky TV.

According to the Spanish newspaper "El Mundo", the consultant agency of the five-time Champions League winner, in turn, said that Union had only offered a contract for six months until the end of the current season. Before that, however, a contract up to and including the 2023/2024 season had been announced, the newspaper wrote. There were also differences about the amount of the salary and the commission for Gestifute.

When the 38-time national player returned, the reporter wanted to know whether Isco would sign up for second division club FC Málaga. The 30-year-old, who has been without a club since leaving FC Sevilla last December, did not answer and closed the door of the taxi, as can be seen in a video distributed on Wednesday.
