Top performers: Reus against Bochum back in the BVB squad

Marco Reus is back in the Borussia Dortmund squad. After surviving a ligament injury in his ankle, the 33-year-old captain is part of the Bundesliga squad for the game this Saturday (3:30 p.m. / Sky) against VfL Bochum.

"Unfortunately, Marco missed a lot," said coach Edin Terzic before the game on pay TV broadcaster Sky. He had few training sessions, "so we decided that he would come off the bench today."

Reus picked up the injury in mid-September and suffered a setback a month later after a brief comeback. The return increases his chances of being nominated for the World Cup in Qatar. "No, of course I don't know," Terzic replied when asked if he knew if Reus was in the 26 squad that national coach Hansi Flick wants to announce on Thursday.

"Enriches every team"

It wasn't "that big of a deal" to show up again in time. "It was about him being free of symptoms, having no pain, being able to move freely. When Marco is pain-free and fully fit, he enriches every team," said the BVB coach. He thinks "all of football Germany would be happy that Marco would finally experience a big tournament".

In addition to Reus, BVB full-back Raphael Guerreiro is also celebrating his comeback in the Revierderby. The Portuguese is in the starting XI.

Bochum's coach Thomas Letsch makes three changes compared to the 0: 4 in Wolfsburg. Konstantinos Stafylidis, Vasilios Lampropoulos and Simon Zoller are replacing Dominique Heintz, Philipp Förster and Christopher Antwi-Adjej in the starting eleven. Under the new coach, VfL have suffered significant defeats against Stuttgart (1:4) and Wolfsburg, but also celebrated successes against Eintracht Frankfurt (3:0) and Union Berlin (2:1).
