Tennis: Djokovic overtakes Graf: 378 weeks number one in the world

Without playing to the next record: Novak Djokovic has set another record on the couch. The 22-time Grand Slam tournament champion has been number one in the world rankings for 378 weeks in his tennis career so far.

No tennis pro has ever done that before him. Djokovic overtook Germany's tennis legend Steffi Graf, who held the top position for women for 377 weeks. On July 4, 2011, the 35-year-old Serb was number one in the world rankings for the first time.

After the break following his triumph at the Australian Open at the end of January, Djokovic returns to the tennis tour this week at the ATP tournament in Dubai. In the rankings he is currently 200 points ahead of Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz. The 19-year-old lost in three sets in the final in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday against British player Cameron Norrie.
