Söderholm successor: Fix: Kreis becomes the new national ice hockey coach

The former national player Harold Kreis will finally become the new national ice hockey coach and thus successor to Toni Söderholm.

The 64-year-old German-Canadian is to be presented by the German Ice Hockey Federation (DEB) next Monday in Munich. According to dpa information, that is now clear. On Friday, the DEB invited to a press conference on Monday (2 p.m.) with the national coach's presentation, without naming the name. DEB Vice President Andreas Niederberger and DEB Sports Director Christian Künast will present the future national coaches, it said.

Kreis is currently still under contract with the Schwenninger Wild Wings. The World Cup in May in Tampere and Riga will be the first test for the veteran, who was already responsible for the World Cup semi-finals in 2010 as assistant to the then national coach Uwe Krupp. It is still unclear whether Kreis will receive prominent support.
