Nordic World Ski Championships: Norwegian cross-country skiers dominate - Moch finishes eighth at the World Championships

The Norwegian cross-country skiers once again proved their exceptional class and divided the medals among themselves.

Simen Hegstad Krüger won the World Championships in Planica over 15 kilometers in free technique ahead of his teammates Harald Oestberg Amundsen, Hans Christer Holund and Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo. For Krüger it was the second world title in Slovenia. The 29-year-old had already triumphed in the skiathlon.

As the best German, Friedrich Moch finished in eighth place. "It was a pretty tough thing today," he said. "I'm very happy with eighth place." The 22-year-old is getting better and better. Team boss Peter Schlickenrieder believes that the Allgäuer is capable of great successes. Schlickenrieder recently said in Planica that he could become an Olympic champion or world champion. When asked about this, Moch said: "Let's see. Of course it's nice to hear. I'll definitely work on making my dreams come true."

In the skiathlon and in the team sprint with Janosch Brugger, Moch finished seventh at the World Championships. "Of course it's really good that I've been able to finish in the top eight every time," he said.
