NHL: Two assists in Ottawa's win over Toronto

The German national ice hockey player Tim Stützle and the Ottawa Senators scored a 6:2 (1:1, 3:1, 2:0) away win against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

In the second win in a row in the North American ice hockey league, Stützle provided two assists in one game for the sixth time this season. The 21-year-old striker was directly involved in the 1-0 and 2-1 lead. The hosts equalized shortly after, but the Senators struck twice more in the second period to decide the game in the final period. Despite their 22nd win of the season, Ottawa remains third from bottom in the Eastern Conference.

Nico Sturm lost with the San Jose Sharks 4:5 (1:1, 0:0, 3:3) after overtime at the Carolina Hurricanes. Sturm had prepared the 3:2 lead for the guests in the third round, two minutes before the end the Sharks increased it to 4:2. But then they conceded two more goals in regulation time, after 55 seconds in overtime the Hurriances scored the winning goal.

Moritz Seider also suffered a defeat with the Detroit Red Wings, with 0:2 (0:0, 0:1, 0:1) the Reds lost out to the New York Islanders. Detroit went without a goal in a game for only the second time this season.
