Negotiations ended: VfB Stuttgart announce Silas' future

VfB Stuttgart has announced the early extension of the contract with Silas Katompa Mvumpa. The offensive player has extended his contract, which originally ran until 2024, to 2026.

"We are very pleased that Silas has extended his contract with VfB early," said sports director Fabian Wohlgemuth in an official press release. "With his speed and goal threat, Silas is an important factor in our attacking game. He still has potential that we want to develop with him over the coming months and years."

Silas himself thanked those responsible at VfB for their trust. "I feel very comfortable here. The club offers me a very good environment to continue improving. I want to be successful with VfB and their great fans," said the 24-year-old.

Silas moved from FC Paris to Swabia in 2019 for eight million euros. Since then, the Congolese has 40 points (25 goals and 15 assists) in 83 competitive games. So far this season, Silas has scored three goals and provided two assists. No other VfB player was more productive.
