National football coach Hansi Flick surprisingly called up U21 national player Armel Bella-Kotchap for the national team's Nations League games against Hungary and England.

The 20-year-old centre-back, who joined Southampton FC from VfL Bochum in the summer, is the only newcomer in Germany's 24-man squad for the final internationals before the squad's nomination for the World Cup in Qatar, which begins on November 20 .

Defenders Matthias Ginter and Robin Gosens are prominent returnees to the DFB selection. Flick, on the other hand, does not want the 2014 world champions Mario Götze and Mats Hummels to make a comeback. But both could "jump on the World Cup train," as the national coach said on Thursday when the squad was announced. FC Bayern Munich forms the largest block with seven players.
