What's the matter with Thomas Haessler? The world champion apparently has major health problems, as his manager Giorgi Elizbarashvili confirmed on RTL demand. His club BFC Preussen is very concerned about the 56-year-old coach after an incident in front of the team.

Rumors circulated that "Icke" Hässler had severe neck pain during a speech to his team and then lost his speech. He also apparently suffered from memory loss. He then had to stop his appearance in front of the players. "I've just spoken to Thomas. He's doing well given the circumstances. He needs a little time to himself now and hopes to return to the sidelines soon," explained the manager.

The incident happened almost two weeks ago, on match day 2 of the Berlin Liga against Hilalspor. Meanwhile, Hässler also suffers from tinnitus. Initial examinations of the 56-year-old remained without a diagnosis. The results of a blood test are still pending.

When asked by "Bild", the 56-year-old said: "I'm currently not able to train a team as long as I don't know what I have." Pierre Seiffert, the sporting director, told the tabloid newspaper: "We are shocked by the state of health and are very concerned because nobody knows what the cause is." The 1990 world champion is on sick leave until further notice.
