Manchester City: Pep Guardiola opens up about Erling Haaland's injury

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has revealed that Erling Haaland is struggling with a ligament injury.

The Norway international missed Saturday's 1-0 win over Leicester City after being substituted at half-time in the recent draw with Borussia Dortmund.

When asked by the BBC, Guardiola admitted he doesn't know when Haaland will be back in action.

"I don't know. He has a ligament injury. He's feeling better, we still have a week," said the Spaniard.

"He won't play against Sevilla because we've already qualified and hopefully he can help us against Fulham. If not, maybe he'll play against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup.

He was replaced by Julian Alvarez on his second Premier League appearance of the season but the Argentine couldn't match Haaland's goal threat and it was Kevin De Bruyne who saved City with a superb free-kick.

With Haaland sidelined against Sevilla, Alvarez will get another chance to shine and Guardiola, like any manager in the Fantasy Premier League, will be hoping for the league's top scorer to return against Fulham.
