The Haas team wants to take its time when it comes to Mick Schumacher's Formula 1 future. "We're not in a hurry," emphasized team boss Günther Steiner at the Dutch Grand Prix in Zandvoort.

"Why do we have to make a choice now? If we make a choice and make a wrong choice and then regret it, why should we push ourselves to make a choice just because you want an answer."

Haas has already confirmed the Dane Kevin Magnussen as a regular driver for 2023. Schumacher's (23) contract with the US racing team expires after two years at the end of this season.

"He deserves a seat, he's better than people think," said Aston Martin driver Sebastian Vettel again for his buddy. It would be a pity if Schumacher would not get a cockpit.

"People know that if I had anything to say, my choice would be Mick if he didn't have anything next year," said Alpine's Esteban Ocon again for his buddy Schumacher. "He's a great guy and could do very well if he had a competitive car." Alpine have such a competitive car. Schumacher has at best outsider chances with the French.
