FC Bayern: Two and a half weeks before the World Cup: Neuer before returning to Hertha

National goalkeeper Manuel Neuer is about to make his comeback in the Bundesliga game at FC Bayern at Hertha BSC and is also bringing relief to national coach Hansi Flick two and a half weeks before the World Cup.

Munich coach Julian Nagelsmann announced that if Neuer's final training session "goes well", he would take part and then play. However, one still has to wait and see how his shoulder will react. The course of the week at Neuer was good. FC Bayern will play in Berlin on Saturday (3.30 p.m. / Sky).

The 36-year-old Neuer had recently missed seven competitive games due to a painful injury to the shoulder joint, the Munich team won all of these games with substitute Sven Ulreich. "We didn't consciously wait any longer, we just waited until he was free of pain," Nagelsmann said of the national team captain's recovery.

National coach Flick will announce his list of 26 players for the World Cup on November 10 (12:00 p.m.) at the Frankfurt DFB campus, followed 13 days later by the opening game against Japan.

National player Thomas Müller (adductor problems) is missing from FC Bayern against Hertha BSC. "Hopefully he can get back in during the week," said Nagelsmann. Müller could therefore be an option again against Werder Bremen on Tuesday.

National player Leroy Sané and French defender Lucas Hernandez will return to the Munich squad after suffering muscle injuries against the Berliners, but are not starting XI candidates. Defender Matthijs de Ligt (knee) is still missing.
