Coach of Boris Becker: tennis coach legend Nick Bollettieri is dead

One of the greats of world tennis is dead: Nick Bollettieri. The legendary tennis coach died on Monday at the age of 91, according to the IMG Academy, which he founded. His protégés included Boris Becker, Wimbledon finalist Sabine Lisicki and the former German number one Tommy Haas. At his academy in the US state of Florida, he formed, among others, Andre Agassi, Venus and Serena Williams, Maria Sharapova, Jim Courier, Monica Seles and Anna Kurnikowa into world stars.

A few weeks ago, Bollettieri's daughter announced that her father was about to move "to the next place". Haas said goodbye to his former coach in an emotional post on Instagram. "You were a dreamer and a doer and a pioneer in our sport, really unique," wrote the former world number two.
