Champions League: Magdeburg handball players win at PSG

The German handball champion SC Magdeburg has won its last Champions League game of the year. At leaders Paris Saint-Germain, Magdeburg won 37:33 (15:19) and took revenge for the first leg defeat.

The best Magdeburg shooter was Omar Ingi Magnusson with twelve goals. With the victory, the SCM consolidated third place in the table in group A and has chances of direct qualification for the quarter-finals again.

The SCM started with a focus and quickly gained a small lead over the hosts who seemed agitated. After that, Magdeburg kept being outnumbered for several minutes and PSG turned the game around. Since ex-Magdeburg player Jannick Green made an excellent save in the host goal, as in the first leg, the French went into the break with a clear lead.

After the break, the SCM struggled to keep up the pace and worked their way back into the game. Goalkeeper Mike Jensen shone with a few saves, including free throws. The teams presented themselves on an equal footing with slight advantages for the SCM, who finally broke away and won the game.
