After six years of waiting, Gina Lückenkemper celebrated her second title win at German indoor championships. The double European champion won the 60-meter sprint in Dortmund on Saturday in 7.17 seconds. Most recently, the 26-year-old track and field athlete from SCC Berlin became indoor champion in 2017.

There was irritation about the winning time of 7.05 seconds that was first displayed. "I think it's questionable to value the time so much," said Lückenkemper, irritated after the clear correction. "I wouldn't have ruled out such a time." Second was Lisa Mayer from Wetzlar (7.21) ahead of Alexandra Burghardt (Burghausen/7.22). With the two, Lückenkemper won relay gold at the 2022 European Championships in Munich.

5000 meter European champion Konstanze Klosterhalfen won the title over 3000 meters. The Leverkusen native won on her 26th birthday in 8:34.89 minutes. Only she was faster in her German record of 8:32.47 seconds. At the same time, she undercut the norm for the European Championships in Istanbul at the beginning of March.

"It's something special, I'm super happy," she said after winning the third championship title after 2017 and 2018. Hanna Klein from Tübingen came second in 8:36.83 minutes ahead of Lea Meyer from Leverkusen in 8:50.83 minutes ran.

Shared pole vault title

European Championship runner-up Bo Kanda Lita Baehre and Torben Blech had to share the pole vault title. The two Leverkusen athletes crossed 5.72 meters and each won their third championship title under the roof of the hall. The 23-year-old Lita Baehre had already taken first place in 2019 and 2020, Blech was first in 2021 and 2022. "The shared title is worth less. I would have liked to have won it alone," said Lita Baehre honestly.

Before the final, the former world-class pole vaulter Tim Lobinger, who died at the age of 50, was honored for his services. "That's the least you could do. He was a role model for me, too," said Blech. The former exceptional jumper Lobinger had been fighting cancer for years.

Triple jumper Max Hess extended his subscription to the title. The ex-European champion from Chemnitz secured victory for the seventh time since 2016. With a jump of 16.73 meters, he kept the competition at a distance. Vice champion Joel Kuluki (Lübeck) managed 15.17 meters in his best jump.
