In the course of the corruption scandal in the European Parliament, the Greek authorities have frozen all the assets of the arrested Parliament Vice President Eva Kaili. "Bank accounts, safe deposit boxes, companies and all other assets are affected," said the head of the Greek anti-money laundering authority, Haralambos Vourliotis, on Monday. The measure also applies to Kaili's relatives.

The Greek politician and three other suspects were taken into custody by the Belgian authorities on Sunday. They are accused of "membership in a criminal organization, money laundering and corruption".
