The traffic light coalition had promised not to hold night meetings. But the last coalition committee met for more than 30 hours and spent a whole night doing it. 48 percent of Germans would like to ban politicians from such marathon meetings because the quality of the decisions suffer under such conditions. This was the result of a Forsa survey commissioned by stern. 46 percent of citizens disagree.

The majority of SPD voters apparently still trust a tired Chancellor Olaf Scholz to make sensible decisions. 57 percent of them are against a ban on night sittings. The supporters of the Greens, on the other hand, see things much more critically: 52 percent of them would like to send the politicians to bed so that they don't make sleepless decisions for the country.
