There are politicians who can be said to have grown up in the marquee. Politicians who prefer to speak where others shove plate-sized pretzels in their mouths and down liters of beer afterwards.

And there is Kevin Kuehnert. The SPD general secretary was born and raised in Berlin. They don't give much attention to folklore and folk festivals there. Berliners prefer to drink their beer on the curb in front of the Späti than on the beer bench in the marquee.
