According to media reports, 30 people are missing after a boat accident involving migrants in the Mediterranean. As the Ansa news agency reports, citing the Italian coast guard, the boat with a total of 47 people on board has been in Libyan waters since Saturday.
17 people could be saved accordingly. The coast guard's rescue operation took place outside of Italy's area of responsibility, it said on Sunday.
The aid project Alarm Phone previously reported that the boat carrying the migrants was adrift at sea. The people on board are tired and terrified.
