Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) will face the members of the Bundestag in the government survey from 1 p.m. The central issue is likely to be the delivery of Leopard main battle tanks to Ukraine.
After weeks of debate, the federal government decided to deliver the showpiece of German tank construction to Ukraine and to allow other countries to sell them to Kyiv. On Wednesday, government spokesman Steffen Hebestreit confirmed reports from the previous day. As a first step, Germany wants to deliver 14 Leopard 2A6 main battle tanks from the Bundeswehr stocks.
In the government survey, Chancellor Scholz first speaks on a topic of his own choice and then answers questions. The agenda item is scheduled for a total of one hour.
