Activists from the Last Generation group tried to damage the road in front of the Federal Ministry of Transport in Berlin with jackhammers.

According to a police spokesman, the action could be stopped, Invalidenstrasse in Berlin-Mitte was not damaged. According to the spokesman, three people were involved in the protest. When the police officers arrived, the activists were in the process of connecting the jackhammers to power sources.

"The everyday grind takes us straight to climate hell via freshly tarred and sealed roads. We can't allow that," wrote the activist group for a short video of the action on Twitter. "If we want to survive, we must finally tackle the construction site of the climate catastrophe together!" The group also announced that it would continue to “interrupt everyday life” in order to spread the resistance to all areas of society.
