The new school year begins in the middle of the war in Ukraine. According to Ukrainian information, 2,300 educational institutions had been damaged and 286 completely destroyed by mid-August, reported Federal Education Minister Bettina Stark-Watzinger (FDP). In Russia, too, school lessons will resume from September 1st.
