Corona: Health ministers call for more research on vaccine damage

The health ministers of the federal states are calling on the federal government to provide more funding for research into corona vaccine damage. They decided at a video conference.

The corona vaccination saved many lives and was important and right, said the chairman of the conference, Baden-Württemberg Minister of Health Manne Lucha (Greens). "But to strengthen the idea of vaccination, research is needed on the symptoms, diagnosis and treatment of the health consequences of vaccination." The federal government must initiate this research as quickly as possible, because only a national strategy is effective.

Desire for regulation of medical care centers

The heads of department also insist on legal regulation of so-called medical care centers (MVZ). "We see risks to supply above all in medical supply centers that are operated by investors," explained Lucha.

These care centers are needed because there are employment opportunities for young doctors who no longer want to be self-employed. "But if capital takes over there and independent medical treatment is called into question or cherry-picked, then it becomes problematic." The ministers instructed Bavaria to launch a joint initiative in the Bundesrat.

Health experts have been complaining for a long time that medical practices are increasingly being taken over by profit-oriented companies and that more and more doctors' offices are being bundled into care centers. Federal Health Minister Karl Lauterbach (SPD) announced at the end of last year that he wanted to prevent financial investors from buying medical practices in the future.
