The minister must again receive unions Friday
" It was not only the minister of the Interior. [...] We came to tell president Macron that it must support, respect, look to his police. [...] The police is not racist, the police is republican [...], it does not choose his or her offending behaviour, it does not choose the color of crime [...] and it saves lives, regardless of the color of the skin of the individual ", said at the press Fabien Vanhemelryck, secretary-general of the trade union Alliance.
Christophe Castaner has received, on Thursday, a part of the unions, and has yet to receive Friday to try to calm their anger after his statements Monday on the police violence. The minister has advocated the "zero tolerance" against racism in the police and announced the banning of a number of techniques of apprehension.
The unions point to the "stigma" and blame, in particular to the minister to have announced the ban of the "key bottleneck" without putting in place an alternative method.
