An unusual race is taking place right now: "Avatar: The Way of Water" and the 25-year-old film "Titanic" are next to each other in the all-time list of the best. One is still, the other back in the cinema. Director James Cameron (68) competes against himself - it's about third place in the most commercially successful films of all time. At least for the time being, the sequel to "Avatar" has been able to take third place, which leads to another special feature. The top three films now have one thing in common: actress Zoe Saldana (44).

At over $2.9 billion, "Avatar" remains in first place, closely followed by "Avengers: Endgame" at $2.8 billion. With "Avatar 2" now taking third place, Saldana has become the undisputed queen of the box office. In both "Avatar" strips, she mimics the Na'vi warrior Neytiri, while she was part of the brilliant Thanos finale as Gamora, a battle-hardened "Guardians of the Galaxy" member - in green instead of blue.

So far, only six films in the history of cinema have managed to gross over two billion US dollars. Since Saldana also appeared in "Avengers: Infinity War" (which is just over $2 billion at number six), she has appeared in four of them.

As a result, Saldana has an incredible statistic: with just four of the numerous films she has acted in, she managed to rake in over ten billion dollars at the worldwide box office. Only the drama "Titanic", which has meanwhile been relegated to fourth place, and the "Star Wars" return "The Force Awakens" (fifth place, 2.08 billion US dollars) were able to do without their services and still achieve the magical two billion dollar jump hurdle.

Of course, there are many factors involved in such leaderboards - inflation, for example. But one thing can definitely be said: Zoe Saldana has an outstanding feeling for blockbuster roles.
