Yellowstone Prequel: Ex-007 Timothy Dalton Joins Cast

Timothy Dalton (76) has joined the cast of the "Yellowstone" prequel "1923". The actor is set to play the character Donald Whitfield in the Paramount series. This is reported by several US media, including the industry magazine "Deadline". His character is said to be a "powerful, confident man who reeks of wealth and lack of empathy." He is intimidating and nefarious and used to "getting anything he wants".

Timothy Dalton is best known as a James Bond actor. He played the legendary spy in the films The Living Daylights (1987) and License to Kill (1989). He has also appeared in films such as 'The Tourist' (2010) and 'Hot Fuzz' (2007).

In addition to Dalton, Hollywood greats Harrison Ford (80) and Helen Mirren (77) are committed to the "Yellowstone" prequel. Brandon Sklenar, Darren Mann, Michelle Randolph, James Badge Dale, Marley Shelton, Brian Geraghty, Aminah Nieves, Julia Schlaepfer and Jerome Flynn will also star in 1923. Production on the series, which begins in December on Paramount, is currently in Montana.

"1923" introduces a new generation of the Dutton family and covers the early 20th century as pandemics, a historic drought, the end of Prohibition and the Great Depression plague the West. Further details are not yet known.

The successful original series "Yellowstone" is already entering its fifth season in November. As in both prequels, the central theme of the neo-western is the Dutton family and the people who live with them on the ranch in Montana. Well-known stars are also on board in the "Yellowstone" prequel "1883" by Taylor Sheridan (52), which was released in December 2021. Singer Faith Hill (55) can be seen alongside country singer Tim McGraw (55).
