On February 16, 2023, the Vienna Opera Ball will take place again after a two-year break due to the corona virus. With its comeback, the 65th edition is "in the service of solidarity", as can be read on the website of the Vienna State Opera, the venue of the event.

The Vienna Opera Ball is returning "to a time that will pose completely new challenges," it said. "Many people in our country will be confronted with previously unknown problems in coping with basic everyday situations this winter."

In cooperation with the partner ORF and the initiative "Austria helps Austria", a large relief campaign for people in need is to be launched through the ball. The ORF will therefore put its programs around the Opera Ball in the service of fundraising. The ball itself will collect donations "directly", "for example through surcharges on tickets and the gastronomic turnover, which will go entirely to 'Austria helps Austria'."

The tickets cost 350 euros. The regular ticket price remains the same as in 2020 at 315 euros, 35 euros go to "Austria helps Austria".
