USA: David Byrne performs at the Oscars

The star line-up for the Oscar show continues to grow. David Byrne (70), the former Talking Heads frontman, is said to be on stage at the Academy Awards ceremony. This was announced by the Los Angeles Film Academy on Monday (local time).

Pop star Rihanna (35) was announced last week with her Oscar-nominated song "Lift Me Up" from the film "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever". Further star guests are to be named in the run-up to the gala.

Byrne will join actress Stephanie Hsu and musical trio Son Lux to perform the Oscar-nominated song "This Is A Life" from the movie Everything Everywhere All at Once, the source said. Byrne, who won an Oscar in 1988 with the soundtrack of the historical drama "The Last Emperor", now has a chance of winning the category "Best Song". Hsu is nominated for Best Supporting Actress for "Everything Everywhere All at Once." The US band Son Lux is in the running for "Best Film Music" with their soundtrack for the science fiction comedy. The Oscars are scheduled for March 12th.
