This Is Me...Now: Jennifer Lopez announces new album

Exactly twenty years to the day after the release of her album This Is Me...Then, Jennifer Lopez has announced a follow-up album. "This Is Me...Now" features 13 songs and is set to be released in 2023, according to the track listing and a short clip shared by the pop star on multiple social media channels. It would be the musician's first album since 2014's A.K.A.

In the announcement video, the 53-year-old singer first wears the outfit and hat she wore on the cover of the previous album, released in 2002, before transforming into today's JLo with hair flowing. There is also a reference to "This Is Me ... Then" in the song titles: One song is titled "Dear Ben pt. II" in reference to "Dear Ben". However, there doesn't seem to be a second part of "Jenny From the Block".

In an interview with fashion magazine Vogue this month, Lopez said: "People think they know what's happened to me along the way, the men I've been with - but they really have no idea, and often understand it so wrong." There is a part of her that hides something from everyone. "And I feel like I've finally gotten to a point in my life where I can say something about it."

In 2002, like today, the musician was in a relationship with actor Ben Affleck. The couple separated in January 2004 and called off the engagement. In July 2022, Lopez and Affleck married in Las Vegas and in August at a larger ceremony at Affleck's Georgia estate. The singer then signed her "On the JLo" newsletter with the name Jennifer Lynn Affleck.
