The singer-songwriter from Huelva, Nicolás Capelo, 51, died this Saturday while diving in the port of Tarifa (Cádiz), sources close to the family have informed Efe.

The event occurred this afternoon, when a diving academy alerted the emergency coordination center that it had rescued one of its members from the sea with signs of drowning at 1:00 p.m., according to the 112 emergency service.

Members of the 061 Health Emergency Center, belonging to the Andalusian Health Service, have certified the death of Capelo, who was scuba diving for the first time, according to family sources.

The Civil Guard has activated the judicial protocol to clarify the circumstances of the event.
