Pop singer Christin Stark (33) will present the successful TV chart show "Die Schlager des Jahres" (MDR) from February 2023. "I'm really looking forward to the moderation [...] A new, beautiful and artistic task for me that I've never experienced before," said the wife (since 2020) of hit star Matthias Reim (64) and mother of a common one Daughter (born 2022) to the station. But Stark also admitted that it was "a challenge" to follow in the footsteps of "Schlagertitan Bernhard Brink".

As the broadcaster further announced, the change in moderation is accompanied by a "refresher in content". In addition to hits, popular pop songs that have made it into the charts will be played in the future. Viewers can also look forward to studio guests and backstage reports. "I'm very grateful that MDR is giving me this chance," said the new moderator, ending her statement with a play on words: "I'm full of anticipation for the great teamwork, because only together are we STRONG."

Bernhard Brink, who has shaped MDR entertainment for 35 years, does not give up his place lightly, but he is generous and grateful: "I would like to thank all my fans for their decades of loyalty. Thanks to all the teams at MDR for the trustworthy and professional productions in over 30 years," says Brink.

But he also admits: "I know the business very well. At some point the call for change comes and that's particularly hard when it affects you [...] I feel in top form and call out to everyone: The hit is alive and well also the singer Bernhard Brink." He still has kind words for his successor: "Of course I wish Christin all the best and I'm happy for her," says Brink.

Peter Dreckmann, head of entertainment at MDR, thanks Brink again: "Even if we have now decided on a new moderator, the singer Bernhard Brink will of course continue to be part of our programs," he says.

On January 6, 2023, Bernhard Brink will present "The Hits of the Month" for the last time.
