"The Crown": You play William and Kate in season six

The cast of the sixth and likely final season of the Netflix hit "The Crown" continues to take shape. As "Deadline" reports, after a complex casting, the actors of Prince William (40) and his Duchess Kate (40) have now been found.

Accordingly, the teenager Rufus Kampa will first slip into the role of the Queen's grandson and embody him at the age of 15. He will be seen in those episodes in which the British royal family processes the death of Princess Diana (1961-1997).

Ed McVey will later portray the prince in his early adult years. Newcomer Meg Bellamy plays young Kate Middleton. Together they will bring the love story of the royal dream couple to the screen. Filming is slated to begin later this year.

Fans are still eagerly awaiting the fifth season of the successful Netflix series, which is expected to be released in November 2022. This will reportedly focus on the period between 1990 and 1997. The year 1992 in particular, which Queen Elizabeth II (96) described as "annus horribilis" (lt. for "terrible year"), will therefore play a greater role. That year, Windsor Castle caught fire. In addition, the marriage crisis and the subsequent separation of Charles and Diana made headlines.
