"The Advent Festival of 100,000 lights": The Silbereisen show was so touching

With his “Advent Festival of 100,000 Lights”, moderator Florian Silbereisen (47) once again heralded the pre-Christmas period on Friday evening (December 2). Numerous big names in the scene and touching moments made the hearts of hit fans beat faster on the MDR show.

For example, Matthias Reim (65) returned to the stage after his health problems in recent months. "It was a very unpleasant year for me," he summed up his 2022 in an interview with Silbereisen. During his comeback on the TV stage, he sang a special hit, "Children's Dream", and seemed energetic again. "I'm looking forward to every single concert that's coming, because I have to prove something to myself," said the singer.

In addition to a comeback, there was also a farewell: Ireen Sheer (73) was on Florian Silbereisen's show for the last time on Friday evening. Back in 2021, on the same show, the singer announced her retirement after more than 60 years in the spotlight. A year later, the time has come: Sheen performed her most famous songs on stage in a red velvet dress and then told the moderator: "Everyone deserves to go in peace at some point."

But not everything went smoothly on Friday evening: While Ross Antony (48) on stage "Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let it Snow!" sang, artificial snow trickled from the ceiling. This led to a small mishap: the singer swallowed a whole load of artificial snow during the performance - and then tried desperately to free his tongue from the flakes.

Florian Silbereisen welcomed Roland Kaiser (70), Vicky Leandros (70), the Kelly Family, Ella Endlich (38), Thomas Anders (59) and DJ Ötzi (51) at the "Advent Festival of 100,000 Lights". For the first time, Das Erste broadcast the hit show on Friday evening instead of on Saturday at prime time.
