ARD and third parties

The last few weeks are beginning for the Sunday talk "Anne Will", which will be back on September 10th. At the end of 2023 it will be over, then Caren Miosga will take over the well-known slot in the first, while Jessy Wellmer will then replace Miosga as the "Daily Issues" presenter. Saying goodbye to Heike Makatsch and the Mainz crime scene on October 8th; Bettina Böttinger will present the talk show "Kölner Treff" for the last time on October 27th on WDR television.

At the beginning of October (October 1st to 4th), the first shows the fourth season of "Babylon Berlin", which was already shown in 2022 on the pay TV provider Sky. September 29th is already the start in the media library (12 x 45 minutes).

The first Munich "Polizeiruf 110" with Johanna Wokalek (as Verena Altenberger's successor) comes on September 17th.

Jan Böhmermann returns after twelve weeks on September 1st with his "ZDF Magazin Royale". The first regular "heute show" after the summer break is on September 8th. There is a new talk show on pop, culture, politics and sport with Sophie Passmann and Tommi Schmitt - "Neo Ragazzi" starts on September 14th on ZDFneo (Mediathek September 13th) with initially eight weekly episodes.

After the end of the "Katie Fforde" series, there is another newcomer for the ZDF "Herzkino" slot on Sundays. Doctor series are back: The new series "Dr. Nice" in spring was a success. Now the medical series "Mit Herz und Holly" with Inka Friedrich and Karoline Teska is coming in November. It is located in Tangermünde (Saxony-Anhalt).

In the fall, the "Rosamunde Pilcher" films on ZDF, which are scheduled to appear a little less frequently, will be celebrating their 30th anniversary. The broadcaster is sending one of its most famous faces to Cornwall: Horst Lichter, who has been popular for years with the junk show "Bares for Rares", takes on a guest role as a butler in the film "Headline Love" (September 24).

In October, the ZDF crime series "Kommissarin Lucas" with leading actress Ulrike Kriener comes to an end after more than 20 years and then 35 episodes with two episodes.

Thomas Gottschalk (73) says goodbye to "Wetten, dass ..?" one month before Christmas. This time the really last issue with him is planned for the Saturday before Totensonntag (November 25) and comes from Offenburg.

RTL group

Hape Kerkeling's comedy "Club Las Piranjas" from 1995 will be continued as a mini-series - in the autumn on the streaming service RTL, in winter then linearly on RTL. There are Judy Winter, Angelika Milster, Cordula Stratmann, Andrea Sawatzki.

The third season of the historical series "Sisi" with Dominique Devenport and Jannik Schümann has been announced for December.

Also in winter comes the new edition of the children's series "New Stories from Pumuckl" with Florian Brückner as Master Eder's nephew. Artificial intelligence is also at work with Pumuckl's unmistakable voice. "Pumuckl" was once cult with Gustl Bayrhammer (1922-1993) and the voice of Hans Clarin (1929-2005).

RTL also has a "Summer House of the Stars" in its program again and also includes Mystery in its program, in which the internationally successful crime game "Die Verräter - Trust Nobody!" (September 13 RTL; linear from September 20) to Germany. It's a psychological reality show starring celebrities. The moderator is jungle camp veteran Sonja Zietlow.

Although Sky wants to stop producing German originals in the future, all fans can watch the fourth season of "Das Boot" from September 23, which was filmed before the announcement. The six new episodes can be seen in double episodes on Sky One on Saturdays from 8:15 p.m. and are available as a complete season on Sky Q and on the Wow streaming service.


The six-part German miniseries "Liebes Kind" based on the bestselling novel by Romy Hausmann will start on September 7th - it's about a woman's escape from years of agonizing imprisonment. The fourth and final season of "Sex Education" arrives on September 21st. The series, which also stars Asa Butterfield and Gillian Anderson, tells of the escapades of several teenagers.

The sixth and final season of the Queen series "The Crown" is also expected in autumn, and the game show "Squid Game: The Challenge" in November. In contrast to the Korean drama series, it is not about life and death, but about a prize money of 4.56 million dollars. From December 20, the Leonard Bernstein film "Maestro" with Bradley Cooper will be available.

Amazon Prime Video

Prime Video has announced a six-part comedy series by and with bestselling author Heinz Strunk for the fall. "Last Exit Schinkenstraße" is about musicians who, as a last resort, try a hit career at Ballermann in Mallorca. In addition to Strunk, Marc Hosemann, Olli Schulz and Bjarne Mädel are also there.

The four-part football documentary series "All or Nothing: The National Team in Qatar" will start on September 8th.


The acclaimed series The Bear: King of the Kitchen just got its second season. In addition, since the corona pandemic, there has been a trend for cinema films to be streamed very quickly. This is especially the case with Disney. In the live-action remake of "The Little Mermaid" with Halle Bailey, a good 100 days will pass between the theatrical release and the Disney release on September 6th. On the same day, the young detective series "The Three !!!" starts.

Based on the bestseller by Victor LaValle, comes the horror fairy tale "The Changeling" starring LaKeith Stanfield (beginning September 8), as well as season three of "The Morning Show" starring Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon (September 13). The four-part documentary "The Super Models" (from September 20) examines the careers of Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista and Christy Turlington.

The series "A Question of Chemistry" (from October 13th) tells the story of Elizabeth Zott, a chemist who is pushed out of science in the stale 1950s and succeeds as an enlightening cooking show host. The eight-part series, starring Oscar winner Brie Larson, is based on the bestseller by Bonnie Garmus.

In addition, after a theatrical premiere on October 19th, Apple TV is adding Oscar winner Martin Scorsese's new western crime epic "Killers of the Flower Moon" to its program. The three and a half hour film stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Lily Gladstone Robert De Niro and Jesse Plemons.


For some, "Naked Attraction" is the most incredible dating format ever, because candidates stand stark naked in the studio to get to know each other.
