"Taught me a lot": Britney Spears raves about Pamela Anderson

Pamela Anderson (55) is currently in the spotlight with her Netflix documentary and her autobiography. The former 'Baywatch' actress has now received a lot of praise from a pop star. "I'm such a fan of Pamela Anderson," said Britney Spears (41) according to "Variety" on Thursday in a since-deleted Instagram post. "She was once the only sex icon in America and she still is!"

Pamela taught her "that people should support you exactly where you are in the moment of your life. Unless cruelty rules the world," Spears continued. The singer also shared words of praise with Anderson's children for standing up for their mother. "I really respect the fact that her kids stood up for her when people were trying to sell her story from the past," the 41-year-old explained. As Variety reports, Anderson's son Brandon Thomas Lee (26) produced her Netflix documentary and is said to have helped close deals for the film and her memoir. Anderson also has son Dylan Lee (25) with Tommy Lee (60).

Spears then elaborated on her own experiences with documentaries about her life, in which she, unlike Anderson, was not personally involved. "Four documentaries were released about me last year with people I adore who spoke about my past. Unfortunately, the way my past was portrayed in these documentaries was extremely embarrassing!" Spears said.

Anderson's son, Brandon, previously responded to the singer's Instagram post, commenting, "Thanks for that. You and my mom both deserve better."

"Pamela: A Love Story" has been available on Netflix since January 31. The documentary promises an "intimate portrait of one of the most famous blondes in the world". It is said to provide an insight "into the life and career of sex symbol and person Pamela Anderson" - from small town girl to internationally renowned actress, activist and devoted mother.

Anderson's autobiography, Love, Pamela, was released the same day. In it she tells, among other things, about experiences with sexual abuse in her childhood and youth. In addition, the book and documentary are about the sex tape released against her will in the mid-90s, on which she can be seen with her ex-husband Tommy Lee. The miniseries "Pam
