“Stars in the ring”: Four new editions with these celebrities

“Stars in the ring” continues. The broadcaster Sat.1 has now announced this. In December (December 8th, 9th, 15th and 16th) there will be recordings of four prime-time shows with Jörg Pilawa (58), who leads the programs as ringmaster, according to the announcement. “Stars in der Manege” is scheduled to be broadcast on Sat.1 in 2024.

A total of 32 celebrities will be taking part in the Munich Circus Krone, including actor Henning Baum (51) as the “pole for the human pyramid”. According to the announcement, “Bachelor” star Paul Janke (42) is trying out hand balance acrobatics. Actress Susan Sideropoulos (43) dares to climb the swaying ladder and singer Alexander Klaws (40) relies on trampoline comedy.

Also announced are “Let’s Dance” star and ex-soccer player Rúrik Gíslason (35) as an acrobat and comedian Luke Mockridge (34), who wants to take on the devil’s wheel. Model Rebecca Mir (31) and her husband, dancer Massimo Sinató (42), will also be seen performing circus numbers in the ring.

Sat.1 brought the classic show “Stars in the Manege” back to TV last year: On December 30, 2022 and January 6, 2023, celebrities took on the role of circus artists in Munich’s Circus Krone.

Originally, "Stars in the Ring" was a charity event that was held from 1959 to 2008. From 1962 it took place in the Circus Krone. Back then, celebrities from film and television as well as sports appeared in the ring as artists. Professional artists also showed off their skills at the gala. Traditionally the show was shown on Boxing Day in the first. In 2009 there was no broadcast and instead a summary of the highlights of previous editions was shown. The end of the event was sealed in 2010.
