Shakira also revealed that she had previously been "emotionally dependent on men" and believed in "the fairy tale that a woman needs a man to be whole". She continued, "Now I feel complete because I feel like I'm relying on myself and I also have two kids that are relying on me so I have to be stronger than a lioness."
