"Scream 6": First trailer for the horror sequel released

The first trailer for the upcoming horror sequel "Scream 6" has been released. The film with Netflix star Jenna Ortega ("Wednesday", 20) continues the fifth part "Scream" from last year - and will start in German cinemas on March 9, 2023. For the first time, an entry in the long-lived horror franchise, which began in 1996, is set in the East Coast metropolis of New York City.

In "Scream 6," the four survivors of the notorious Ghostface killer's latest murder spree leave their hometown of Woodsboro to start a new life in New York City. But even in the "Big Apple" the killer continues to hunt half-sisters Tara (Ortega) and Sam (Melissa Barrera, 32) and twins Chad (Mason Gooding, 26) and Mindy (Jasmin Savoy Brown, 28).

In addition to those already mentioned, fans of the Scream franchise can look forward to the return of crowd favorites Courteney Cox (plays reporter Gale Weathers-Riley, 58) and Hayden Panettiere (plays Kirby Reed, 33). Brand new in "Scream 6" are Samara Weaving ("Ready or Not", 30), Tony Revolori ("Spider-Man: No Way Home", 26) and Jack Champion ("Avatar: The Way of Water") . Part six of the horror series is directed - as with "Scream" - by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin (44) and Tyler Gillett (40) from a screenplay by James Vanderbilt (47) and Guy Busick.
